Job Summary and Qualifications
The Pediatric Specialty Unit (PSU) Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family-centered nursing services providing safe and effective care to the pediatric population. The PSU RN is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Pediatric Specialty Unit (PSU) Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family-centered nursing services providing safe and effective care to the pediatric population. The PSU RN is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department.
What you will do in this role:
- You will work collaboratively with the clinical medical provider, to empower children and their families to make informed decisions regarding their health care, including health promotion and prevention of disease or complications
- You will provide education to the patient and/or parent/guardian in a manner that the recipient understands in order to contribute to positive patient care outcome and patient satisfaction
- You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results
- You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
- You will check rooms daily for necessary supplies
- You will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)
What qualifications you may need:
- ADN, BSN or diploma nurse licensed to practice nursing in the state of Georgia OR license in compact state with authorization to work in the state of Georgia.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Health Care Provider is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date
- Prior acute care Registered Nurse (RN) experience with pediatric patients strongly preferred
