Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
1. Prior ICU experience preferred.
Education:
1. B.S. Nursing preferred.
2. Educational requirements appropriate for meeting population-specific needs of patients assigned to the ICU.
Special Qualifications
1. Current Texas or compact state licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
2. Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
3. ACLS certification within six months of hire.
4. CCRN certification within two years of hire preferred.
5. NIHSS certification within three months of hire, unless currently certified then needs to be maintained every two years.
6. 8 hours of acute stroke education annually.
