Job Summary and Qualifications

About this Clinic:
- Outpatient Clinic at the Main Hospital, with 12 Exam Rooms (1 specific for Eye doctor)
- Serve broad patient population from age 0 to End of Life; Pain, Oncology, Infusion, Pulmonary, Surgery Patients; Cross Trained to support all areas
- Amazing team work throughout all levels – Collaborating with Provider to provide 1:1 patient care
- Strong team environment, collaboration and communication at the highest level; fast paced, with ton of variety in patient modalities
Responsibilities:
- A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
- Answers phone calls and addresses the needs of the caller.
- Schedules patient appointments.
- Complete prior authorizations and referrals as needed via phone calls and/or with online access.
- Accepts responsibility for completing any other tasks as needed or as requested by the Clinic Director.
- Schedule may vary depending on needs of specialty providers.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- Complete ONS certification within three months of hire.
- One (1) year of experience as a R.N. in an acute care setting preferred, previous clinic experience preferred.
- Licensed as a R.N. by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- BCLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification strongly recommended.
- Must complete the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Course within 6 months of hire, and the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course after a year of hire and a year of administration of Chemotherapy.
- Self-directed, self-motivated, and works independently. Demonstrates communication skills, leadership ability, organization, and time management skills.
