Job Summary and Qualifications

Outpatient Clinic Registered Nurses have high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm in a fast paced environment. They get the opportunity to work directly with Providers and support a variety of modalities in a clinic setting.

About this Clinic:

• Outpatient Clinic at the Main Hospital, with 12 Exam Rooms (1 specific for Eye doctor)
• Serve broad patient population from age 0 to End of Life; Pain, Oncology, Infusion, Pulmonary, Surgery Patients; Cross Trained to support all areas
• Amazing team work throughout all levels – Collaborating with Provider to provide 1:1 patient care
• Strong team environment, collaboration and communication at the highest level; fast paced, with ton of variety in patient modalities

Responsibilities:

• A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Answers phone calls and addresses the needs of the caller.
• Schedules patient appointments.
• Complete prior authorizations and referrals as needed via phone calls and/or with online access.
• Accepts responsibility for completing any other tasks as needed or as requested by the Clinic Director.
• Schedule may vary depending on needs of specialty providers.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
• Complete ONS certification within three months of hire.
• One (1) year of experience as a R.N. in an acute care setting preferred, previous clinic experience preferred.
• Licensed as a R.N. by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
• BCLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification strongly recommended.
• Must complete the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Course within 6 months of hire, and the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course after a year of hire and a year of administration of Chemotherapy.
• Self-directed, self-motivated, and works independently. Demonstrates communication skills, leadership ability, organization, and time management skills.
