Job Summary and Qualifications
Primary responsibility is coordination of the Sepsis Program and to ensure Early Goal Directed Therapy requirements are met. Responsible for outcomes measurement for selected population. Responsible to track, report, and submit hospital Sepsis data. Responsible for staff development regarding care of the Sepsis patient and development of related materials Conduct monthly Sepsis Program meetings for the evaluation of outcomes, policy and protocol development, review of current best practice through networking and ongoing education, and to provide input into enhancement of current Sepsis Program. Accountable for patient safety and quality outcomes for a narrowly focused patient population in a particular unit/clinical setting. Assimilates and applies research-based information to design, implement, and evaluate patient care with a point of care focus.

We have more than 2,000 employees and over 1,400 physicians on staff. Our main campus in Plano has a cancer treatment center and cardiovascular programs. We have The Bariatric Surgery Institute, a Wound Care Center and inpatient rehabilitation. We also offer complete women's and children's services. This includes a high-risk antepartum unit and a Level 3 neonatal intensive-care unit. We were the first hospital in Dallas, Collin or Denton counties to be named a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Medical City Plano was the first Level I Trauma Center in Collin County and The Burn & Reconstructive Center of Texas was the first burn center in Collin County. What You Will Do In This Role
- Identification of sepsis patients through hospital and coded data
- Interact with Emergency Department and Critical Care leaders as needed to identify patients and processes related to sepsis patients or to reconcile data as needed
- Target sepsis patients for the NTD initiative
- Accurately enter sepsis patients into a database and abstract elements of data per patient
- Compile data quarterly and create sepsis reports for the NTD sepsis initiative
- Manage performance improvement information for sepsis patients at MCP
- Uses Performance Improvement process to improve patient safety and patient outcomes
What Qualifications You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field; Master’s degree preferred
- RN Required
- Current Certification in BLS (ACLS, PALS, NRP as indicated)
- Current certification in area of practice
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience
