PRN - MID SHIFT

$56 per hour
Program runs through April 6, 2023

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
· All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
· Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
· Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
· During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
· Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
· Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
· Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
· Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2023-2024 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
· Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to emergent, identified needs. Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and ENA standards in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

Medical City Lewisville is a full-service 190+ bed medical and surgical facility. We offer a broad spectrum of care to the communities of southern Denton County. We have emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Flower Mound. Our patient tower has two floors dedicated to women’s services. We have a specialty obstetrics referral center for high risk OB services. We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Medical City Lewisville is a Level III Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center. Excellent customer service and patient safety are our top priorities. We have over 360 physicians and 800 healthcare associates. - Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; medication administration and storage procedures; and controlled substance regulations. Promotes consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
- Demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications.
- Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Participates as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behaviors consistent with HCA established policies/procedures.
What qualifications you will need:
- ADN Required; BSN preferred
- TX RN license or RN Compact State License
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and PALS certification required within 90 days of hire
- SAMA or CPI within 12 months of hire
- TNCC certification within 12 month of hire
